1. For PC users, SSD should be used for Windows, Ableton and, depending on drive size, VST plugins. For most, a 500 GB is needed to fit in their samples. And for your archives, I advise getting a large external drive or getting a cloud storage service if you have a very good upload link (~50Mbps and up).

Yes anything past 2010 with an i5 will do. For Traktor I also recommend 8 GB RAM. An SSD is a bonus if you can afford it, get it. But apart from that all modells work, from the Macbook Air to the Pros.

I have been searching around a lot in order to find the best PC laptop possible. I normally use Ableton for live performances. I run several midi instruments, heavy audio clips, and midi loops simultaneously. In live performances I have very little error and unfortunately I cannot customize a laptop (I wish! ). I was aiming at a Macbook but my budget is not big enough yet, so I decided to start windows and upgrade later on if needed. this is the best I've found so far.

Apple is asking 2500 for a machine like this whereas Lenovo and MSI are only 1000.

I would like to stay around the 1000 if possible. Are Lenovo or MSI a good option? Is there any other recommended brand?
