We're always drawn to deep lippies in Autumn, but although berries aren't necessarily bright, these bold shades can require confidence to wear. Kirstin Piggott, Rimmel London's Global Makeup Artist says, 'this season it's all about beautiful rich berry shades' which range as far as plum to burgundy. Let your lips do the talking and keep the rest of your makeup simple 'with flawless luminous skin and softly defined brows,' she instructs.
Kirstin's favourite shades are the berry-flattering Under My Spell, One-Of-A-Kind, and Oh-So Wicked from Rimmel's The Only 1 Lipstick collection – newbies with amazing formulas that glide onto the lips leaving intense colour payoff.
While those three shades may be safe choices for rocking the trend, hone in on the exact shade for your skin tone and it won't budge from your smile all season.
First you need to identify your undertones. An easy way to see if you have cool or warm undertones is to ask yourself if you think silver or gold jewellery suits you best. If gold makes your skin look brighter then it's likely you have warm, yellow undertones, whereas if silver makes you look fresher you probably have cool, pink undertones. If you can wear both – you're neutral.
Kirstin says 'You should wear berry lipsticks that have blue undertones such as deep plum, wines and oxblood berry shades if you have more pink undertones in the skin'.
