Logic Pro X is one of the best recording studio programs on the market. If you don't own a MAC then here are 5 best alternatives for Logic Pro on Windows 10. Best Mac specs for running Logic Pro X I'm leaning toward a getting a Mac Mini (but willing to considering MBP or imac) so I can run LPX. I've been advised to get the i7 quad processor (and I think the mini has only dual i7) and 16 gigs RAM.
Hey.
So I'm working on setting up my MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012, 8 GB Ram, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7) with Logic Pro X. Until now, for all my music production needs, I have been using a 500GB External HDD Running OS X Mavericks, rather than using my built in 250 SSD. I've also been using Ableton Live for all of my music production stuff. However, I recently decided I would make the leap and start using Logic Pro X.
I downloaded and installed it onto my external disk, but it seems as though my mac is not able to handle it. It lags a bit at first and once you start playback with 5 or 6 tracks I get an error. If I recall correctly it's something along the lines of the disk being to slow. (I can double check this if anyone needs.)
My problem is that I need my built in SSD for work, I'm a Software Developer and the tools I use take up a good amount of disk space. Would getting an External SSD solve this speed problem? What do I need to do to get Logic pro to run as best as it can?
Thanks.
Almost all of Apple’s own applications will support the MacBook Pro’s new Touch Bar when it starts shipping in a couple of weeks, but not Logic Pro X. Instead, users will have to wait until early 2017 for compatibility, according to a new report.
During the MacBook Pro’s big unveiling last week, Apple actually surprised us with the amount of apps it showed off on the Touch Bar. Nearly everything that ships with macOS is supported, including GarageBand, iTunes, Safari, Maps, and even Terminal.
Lots of third-party apps were shown off with Touch Bar support, too, like Photoshop from Adobe and Djay Pro from Algoriddim. One app that did not appear was Logic Pro X, Apple’s popular music production software. But it won’t be left out.“We’ve learned from a source familiar with the company’s plans that the Logic Pro team is currently targeting early next year for Touch Bar support,” reports 9to5Mac. Functionality is expected to be similar to that offered for GarageBand.
That means you should be able to use the Touch Bar to control musical instruments, to quickly activate different plugins, to adjust the volume of different tracks, and to fine-tune the sounds of instruments and effects.
